Sun, Fun and So Much More

Unlike the rest of the country PEI has yet to have a heat wave. Most days are cloudy in the morning, partly sunny in the afternoon and then evening showers. So it has been hard to get to the beach. We bought Penny a pool earlier in the month and finally this week she was able to test it out. As you can see she had lots of fun.
Other activities include going out for breakfast with friends and strawberry picking. It was so cold in the middle of the afternoon the poor girl had to wear a fleece jacket. Of course that didn't stop her when PEI has the best strawberries in the world. Penny also has had some play dates with friends and has been to the park a number of times swinging.

As a family we do not want to take full credit for the Riders big win on the weekend but we believe that Penny had a big part to play in the victory. Sunday morning she put on her Rider gear to show her support and pride for the team. She also did a lot of dancing and jumping to get pumped up for the game. Yes there was time for a pre-game nap as well.

Enjoy the pics from the last week.

Summer Time

To all of our committed fans we are truly sorry for the lack of information over the last few months. Things have been busy and Jason has not had the time or energy to put on his creative juices at night and do a post. That being said can you believe that tomorrow Penny is going to be eleven months.
This year has definitely flown by. Of course both Jason and Martina would not trade this year for anything. Penny has brought so much joy and love into the Biech household. She loves to sing, dance, clap and occasionally give a kiss. She is always talking and smiling at everyone around her. God has given her the ability to bring joy into people's lives.

With each week there are new things she is doing and new foods she is trying. She seems to eat everything that is put before her. Her favorites are yogurt, cheerios, grapes and watermelon. You have to hide the watermelon from her or she won't eat anything else. She loves water. Loves to take baths and can't get enough of the beach. She is not afraid of the ocean.
She sits in the water and plays with rocks, shells and sand. Of course she has eaten a little sand. Penny decided to skip the crawling and she is very close to walking. She would rather stand and play then sit. It won't be long and she will be off on her own. She has two bottom teeth and a top one is about to come it. She has definitely grown since the last pictures. Enjoy the new ones.

It's Been a While

First off it has been some time since a post has been done. Sorry to all of you who regularly check our blog for an update. May has come and with it so does the business of the last two months of the school year therefore Jason has not been in the mood to spend much time on the computer when he gets home.

Since most of you visit the blog to find out how Penny is doing. Lets just say as each day passes more of her personality is coming out. As far a development is concerned she finally has one tooth pushing through. Her hair is growing and yes she still loves to eat. She has not been officially weighed in a while but she has to be close to or over twenty pounds. Penny has no interest in crawling. She has found that by rolling and spinning on her belly and back she can get to where she wants. She enjoys putting her feet up on furniture and pushing off. She is now able to say dada and moma. She loves to go swimming and sticking her head in the water. She also loves to watch Veggie Tales for some reason. Every time she sees Bob the tomato she screams or laughs. She loves to stand and loves to laugh while doing it. She thinks she is something special and wants everyone to notice her standing. Penny also loves her books. She can turn pages all by herself and loves to be read to. After watching the royal wedding Penny seems to have decided to wave like the queen. She has perfected the perfect wrist to arm movement wave. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Over the last few weeks a number trips have been taken up West. Papa had to go back out West which Penny was sad about. Martina celebrated her first Mother's Day. Penny made sure she got a few special gifts and yes breakfast from MacDonalds. What a girl, she already knows what her mother likes. Nana and Grandma were given special pictures from Penny. Last weekend Uncle Colby and Megan came for a visit. We're not sure who had more naps Penny or Uncle Colby. Jason and Martina were thankful for the visit as the two were able to go out for a wonderful supper and a little shopping.
The next big event is Grandma and Grandpa coming at the end of the month for a visit. Enjoy the pics

Hoppy Easter

So much has happened over the last two weeks that there is no way that everything can be written about so here are just a few highlights. Penny is definitely growing like a little weed. She is now over 19 pounds and her hair is coming in quite fast. Depending on the day her eyes look blue, brown or hazel. She is not crawling yet but that does not seem to phase her as she is able to roll and spin herself to where ever she wants to go. She loves to stand. When she is standing she looks around with a big smile to make sure that everyone notices her. She is still full of personality, smiling and laughing at anyone who will give her attention. One of the highlights of a couple of weekends ago was Penny's first taste of Huntley ice cream. She took the cone right to her mouth. Soon she got a brain freeze. Once that left she was right back at the ice cream.

Penelope's first Easter was wonderful. Martina put a little basket together with gifts from the Easter Bunny Nana and Grandma. Penny loved her books, bathing suits and dresses. For lunch it was off to Grand Daddy's house for the family meal. Everyone had a good time eating and playing with Penny. One of the best part of this past month has been having Papa around. Penny and Papa have been able to spend lots of quality time together. They both love their naps.

Here are just a few of the good times over the past few weeks.

A Touch of Gold

Martina was quite excited last week when she got to hold Heather Moyse's gold medal from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Moyse won the medal as part of the woman's two person bobsled team. Only in PEI would someone pass around a gold medal in a room of strangers and not be worried that someone would walkout with it. The family was at the 2010 Amateur Sports Awards. Colby was nominated for Intercollegiate Male Athlete of the Year. Of course he walked away as the winner. Penny was so proud of her uncle.

Penny has had a another great week. She has so much personality. She loves people and will pretty much smile at anyone. With the weather getting better the fam has been able to get out for a few walks. Penny loves to look at everything and everybody who passes by. Thursday was a big day for Penny as Papa flew home and the two got to reconnect with each other. This past Saturday Jason and Martina were invited to an eighties party. Penny joined them and found a pretty rad outfit for the evening.

Beginning Her Studies

Now that the Biech's are home from Florida routine has once again entered Penny's life. Everyday consists of eating, sleeping and playing. Except Friday afternoons which involve a swimming date with her best friend Jack. They spend the afternoon splashing in the water while chattering back and forth. There are two other activities that Penny thoroughly enjoys. She loves her Winnie the Pooh book. The book talks to her and plays music. Penny turns the pages and moves the characters to talk. She often gets so excited that she screams with delight at the book and everyone who is in the room.
The other activity is staring at all the pictures on the fridge of family and friends. The other day Jason put her on the floor in front of the fridges and she just stared at the pictures for ten minutes. Every now and then she would look at her parents and give a shout of delight. Crawling is still a challenge as she does not want to get up on her hands or knees. No teeth yet but she definitely loves to chew on everything.
