Ready for Winter

Winter has hit the Maritimes and with that so has the craziness of season. With Jason's class only being eight weeks long, he spends most nights and Saturday reading and writing papers. Martina is helping out at school which means getting sleep at night is becoming more important. Penny overall is a pretty good sleeper. Most nights she sleeps six to seven hours. She is getting use to falling asleep on her own, however she does love to be held. As someone has told us, enjoy these moments they don't last forever. Another big weekend is ahead with the school's annual Pancake Breakfast/Silent Auction. Oh and by the way Sunday is the Grey Cup. No more 13th man jokes. The Riders are going to win and Penny will be cheering loud to make sure it happens.

Road Trip Again?

Friday November 12th was a big day for the Biech's as Penelope had her big three month birthday. To celebrate Martina, Penny and Nana headed off to Halifax for the weekend to watch Uncle Colby play a few games and visit some of the local sites. Jason had to stay home and work on his course. Penny cheered on Uncle Colby to two big victories against UPEI and UNB. The girls spent Saturday shopping for shoes and some new clothes. They also found time to visit Citadel Hill which was a fortress built by the British in 1749 to counter a growing French presence at Fortress Louisbourg several hundred kilometres northeast. Uncle Colby gave a great tour and answered all of Penny's questions regarding the history of Halifax. There was even time for a few pics by the fortress walls and a cannon.

Sunday started with a great breakfast at Cora's. Penny made sure that everyone got what they wanted from the menu. Then it was time to visit Aunt Darlene and Uncle Donnie. The dogs Asia and Abby entertained Penny for a while and then it was time to fire up the van and head home. Jason was quite excited to see his two girls. They ended a great weekend by watching the Riders win a very entertaining game against the BC Lions in the West Semi Final. Now we need to prepare for next weekend's big game against the Stamps. We may even have to pull out the little Rider cheer-leading outfit. Enjoy all the photos from the big weekend.

After an exhausting game Uncle Colby and Penny crashed. All that Cheering really tires a little girl out.

Turning Back the Clocks

In honor of daylight savings, Jason and Martina thought they would have their little girl dress like a little Puritan or a character on Little House on the Prairie. With the little bonnet she definitely has an old time look. This week was filled with adventures. Penny came to school a few times as Martina had to teach piano and tutor. She also spent the weekend at the provincial volleyball championships watching Westisle boys take it all.
The highlight of the week was getting to see Uncle Colby play hockey against UPEI. Unfortunately the Huskies lost but Uncle Colby did score a goal for Penny. We have noticed that Penny likes the feel of hard cold cash. Hope she's not a shopper.

Now where's the horse and buggy?
